The Elite black platelegs were released on 26 November 2008 along with the quest While Guthix Sleeps. They require level 40 defence to wear. They are dropped by elite black knights. They are part of the Elite black armour set along with the Elite black full helm and the Elite black platebody. The back of these platelegs seem to look like a skirt. Their stats are similar to those of the rune platelegs, however, the Elite black platelegs have a considerably lower crush defence, among other differences. The Elite black platelegs and the rest of the Elite Black Armour Set are usually considered to be a sign of wealth, as their stats are relatively low compared to other expensive types of armour. However, the Elite black platelegs range attack bonus as well as it's defence stats are better than that of Black platelegs, making it the best choice to use for ranging or melee'ing the Tormented wraith.
