Earth esslings are a type of essling found on all floors of the Runespan. They can be siphoned for earth runes, requiring one rune essence and giving one earth rune and 14.5 Runecrafting experience for a successful siphon; an unsuccessful siphon will give no runes, consume no essence, and give 0-2 experience. They require level 9 Runecrafting to siphon. You can absorb 5 earth runes before the earth essling dies, leaving 50 rune essence. However, if the player stopped siphoning before the essling was drained, they will not receive any essence. They respawn every 5 seconds.
Chipping
Earth esslings can also be "chipped" for rune essence. By using 10 water runes on the esling, you will receive 10-20 rune essence. However, the same essling cannot be chipped twice in a row; you can't chip the same creature until you have chipped three other Runespan creatures of any type.

Earth esslings can be found on platforms 1, 4, 6, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 33, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40, 43, 46, 47, and 51 of the lower floor.
Middle level
Earth esslings can be found on platforms 2, 3, 14, and 29 of the middle floor.
Upper level
Earth esslings can be found on platforms 1, 2, 4, 5, 9, 10, and 12 of the upper floor.
