Dragonbane bolts are bolts that do additional damage to dragons. They require 50 Ranged to wield, and require a Rune crossbow or better to fire.

When used against dragons, these bolts provide a 18.75% damage increase to abilities and auto-attacks. Furthermore, they also appear to give an accuracy boost against them, although ranging high-level dragons resistant to Ranged (such as metal dragons) remains unfeasible. Nevertheless, they are inferior in terms of damage to most higher levelled bolts, such as Royal bolts, and can be tedious and time-consuming to obtain.

Dragonbane bolts are created by mining Bane Ore (77 Mining), then casting the Tune Bane Ore Spell (87 Magic) with a dragon item. The ore is then smelted into dragonbane bars (77 Smithing), which are then made into dragonbane bolts (unf) on the Kethsian anvil (82 Smithing). Each bar makes 50 unfinished bolts. Feathers need to be added to the unfinished bolts, requiring level 80 Fletching and giving 70 experience per set of 10 feathered. The Magic, Smithing, and Fletching requirements can be boosted or assisted. Therefore, using Spicy Stews and an Extreme Magic Potion , the lowest levels possible to obtain these bolts are 76 Mining (Required to complete the quest), 80 Magic, 78 Smithing, and 74 Fletching.

Dragonbane bolts are not attainable until completion of the Ritual of the Mahjarrat grandmaster quest and are untradeable, although assistable.

Dragonbane bolts do NOT work on skeletal wyverns.

TriviaEdit

• Currently, the bolts do no additional damage to the dragons in the dungeon of a player owned house. It is unknown whether this is a bug.
