The Dragon bitter barrel is a piece of furniture that can be built in the Kitchen of a player-owned house with the Construction skill. The barrel, used with an empty beer glass, supplies the player with an unlimited amount of Dragon bitter. The beer cannot be taken outside of a player-owned house, nor can it be used to construct Dragon bitter barrels.
Ales and ciders obtained from barrels in a player-owned house cannot be used.
Additionally, with the use of an Oak workbench in a players Workshop room, making flat-pack dragon bitter barrels is quite a profitable method if the player is willing to acquire the materials directly (mining and smelting ore to make steel bars, and taking oak logs they have cut to the sawmill themselves). With raw material costs at 8869gp (3114gp if the Dragon Bitters are bought from the pub in Yanille), these flat-pack barrels sell for well over 11500 each. This certainly isn't the fastest way to make money but it is a method of gaining construction experience and a reasonable profit at the same time, as all other flat-pack items are sold at a loss in comparison to the raw materials needed to make them.
Although this item appears to be profitable in theory, in practice, the item may not sell at all, not even at 1gp. At times, it might be that nobody is buying these, so the price can not change to come down, and remains artificially high when there is in fact no demand whatsoever. This may occur with other items and is not unique to this item.
