Degradation

Degradation occurs to some pieces of equipment, where the equipment gradually wears down until reaching a "charge" of zero. When this happens the item will either become unusable or will have reduced stats and can be recharged at a price, or crumbles to dust. Most pieces of repairable armour/weapons

Degrading EquipmentEdit

RepairableEdit

These items can be recharged or repaired in some way.

Non-repairableEdit

These items crumble to dust when it's charges have been used up.

Special casesEdit

  • The dwarf multicannon decays. After 25 minutes of being set up, it vanishes, but a free replacement could be obtained from Nulodion. Picking the multicannon up and setting it up again resets the timer.
  • Crystal equipment can be recharged by Ilfeen for an initial fee of 900k but will decrement the cost by 180k each recharge until a price of 180k is reached.

About repairables Edit

Items that are repairable can be repaired one of two ways (three in the case of Drygore weaponry) listed below.

*Armour repair stand
*NPCs
*Chitin scraps

Armour repair standEdit

For the most part, all repairable items can be repaired at a cheaper price by using an Armour Stand, rather than through an NPC. There are exceptions where items will cost the same amount at an Armour stand as at an NPC, such as Drygore weaponry and the Frozen key.

Listed in order, each bench is an upgrade of the previous version.

Repair bench - Repair bench: Used to repair Broken arrows and broken staves.
Whetstone - Whetstone: Used to repair rusty swords as well as items from Repair bench.
Armour stand - Armour stand: Used to repair Damaged armor as well as all items from Whetstone and Repair bench.

NPCsEdit

Bob - Bob found at Bob's Brilliant Axes in Lumbridge.
Tindel marchant chathead - Tindel Marchant at the end of the southern most pier in East Port Khazard.
Void Knight Squire chathead - Squire can be found at the Void Knights' Outpost in the building marked with an Anvil on the minimap.
Dunstan chathead - Dunstan, the chief blacksmith in Burthorpe. He can be found in a hut in north-east Burthorpe marked by the sword sign on the minimap.

Chitin scraps Edit

Chitin is a reference to one of two items, Damaged Chitin or Chitin scraps. Damaged Chitin is a 100% drop from all monsters found in the Exiled Kalphite Hive. Its only value comes from it being used on an anvil to make Chitin scraps. The number of scraps produced from doing this is dependent on your Smithing level. Chitin scraps are used to repair Drygore weaponry at a much lower price, compared to Armour stand and NPCs.

Repairable Costs Edit

All costs listed here are for full repair.
