Defence potions are made by mixing clean marrentill and then bear fur in a Vial of water, giving 45 Herblore experience. It requires Herblore level 9. F2P players now have the ability to use Defence potions.
This potion is almost never used in members worlds as a super defence potion is both stronger and cheaper.
Defence potions temporarily raise your defence level by 1-8 (1 + 8% of your defence level, rounded down).
They can be bought at the Warrior Guild Potion Shop for 880 coins.
Previously, during the Jekyll and Hyde random event, if a clean toadflax herb was given to Dr. Jekyll, he would give out a defence potion.

Flask Edit
This potion can be made into an Defence flask by using at least six doses of it with a Potion flask. Players do not need a specific level to turn potions into flasks.
Trivia Edit
Using white berries on a ranarr potion (unf) now yields the message "A defence potion is now made using a Tarromin potion (unf)." As defence potions are now made with a marrentill potion (unf), it appears that this is a textual error.
Defence potions used to be made with clean ranarr and White berries, requiring a Herblore level of 30 and giving 75 Herblore experience.
