The Death Plateau is an elevated plane located in the southern Troll Country. The Trolls have taken up camp on the plateau, using it to launch raids at night on the nearby village of Burthorpe. In the Death Plateau quest the player is asked by Denulth, head of the Burthorpe Imperial Guard, to find another way up to the plateau, as the main path is heavily guarded. Several Thrower trolls watch the pass and attack any trespassers. It is therefore advised to activate the Protect from Missiles Prayer if taking this route. Through a sherpa (Tenzing) it is learned that a secret path exists, leading from his house to the back of the troll camp. To get to his house one must walk north-west from Burthorpe, and turn south at the wounded soldier. Do not go north, as it is a very dangerous way! The path from Tenzing's house is the only safe path leading to the Troll Country, as halfway it branches off into the mountainous region. This road requires Climbing boots to climb over rocks, which can be bought from Tenzing for 12 gp.
This location is also visited during My Arm's Big Adventure, when the player has to search the cooking pot in the middle of the troll camp.
Players who received a troll Slayer task often come here with a cannon, as it guarantees quick experience while being able to hide behind the tents there.
