Death Lotus armour equipped

Death Lotus scroll piece 4

Death Lotus equipment is a set of degradable ranged equipment unlocked via player-owned ports. 85 Defence is required to wear the armour. 85 Ranged is required to wield the darts. The armour can be made at 90 Crafting and the darts can be made at 92 Fletching in the port's workshop. Boosts cannot be used. The material used to craft the armour is the trade good lacquer. The materials used to craft the darts are ascension shards and ancient bones.

The ideal adventurers to gather lacquer are The Convict (Thieving) and The Exile (Dungeoneering), with The Assassin (Slayer) and The Whaler (Fishing) providing duo voyages for lacquer; ancient bones are best gathered by The Biologist (Herblore) and The Missionary (Prayer).

Before the armour can be made, the ability to make the pieces must be unlocked.  This is done by collecting 4 forgotten scrolls per part via scroll voyages in your port. A total of 12 scroll pieces are required to be able to craft the head, body, and leg pieces of the armour, and an additional 4 scroll pieces are needed to make the weapons. The (complete) scrolls for the gloves and boots are bought from the Ports Reward Shop (run by Boni on Waiko) for 2,500 chimes and 3 taijitu.

The armour comes in two versions, tradeable and untradeable ('superior'). The superior version has higher stats than the tradeable one and lasts longer (20% more charges of combat). The superior version can be repaired, where as the tradeable version cannot and will degrade to nothing. The gloves, boots, and darts are exclusively untradeable.

Dying with Death Lotus equipment[]

Dying to an NPC simply drops it to the ground (or gravestone if outside the Wilderness) with 10% of its charge lost, or 20% charges for superior items. It can also be reclaimed from Death at a cost of 20% of its recharge cost (inferior 10% of Grand Exchange price).

Upon death in dangerous PvP, the inferior versions will drop as that item with the same amount of charge for the killer. The superior versions will be converted to the following regardless of charge:

Superior armour[]

Superior Death Lotus equipment degrades to broken after 72,000 charges of combat, and can be repaired for coins at a Repair NPC or armour stand, or for trade goods at the workbench in the player-owned port. Unlike inferior armour, it can not be traded.

Wearing any four (or more) of a superior Death Lotus armour set (including augmented parts, but not weapons) grants a passive ability, Death Knot, which gives an approximate 1/3,125 chance to obtain a ports resource crate when defeating an opponent.

Trivia[]

  • The inventory icon of each piece of Death Lotus armour was changed in an update around a month after the release of Player-owned ports. Their appearance was changed on the 3 January 2013. Death Lotus assassins still wear the original versions of the armour.
  • Death Lotus Armour, along with all other player-owned ports armours, received an update on the 4th of March 2013 to their degradation mechanic to allow them to last much longer in combat. They now share the same degradation mechanic as Nex armours.
