Damis

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

Damis is one of the four guardians of the Diamonds of Azzanadra, fought during the Desert Treasure quest in the Shadow Dungeon. He has two forms, the first being a rather easy level 103, the second being a very tough level 174.

Both forms of Damis have the ability to drain Prayer. He drains prayer by 3-5 points each time he hits, even if he hits a zero.

Keep in mind that Damis is located in a multicombat area. Protect from Melee prayer is strongly advised, as Damis has a maximum hit of 29 and attacks as fast as throwing knives.

[edit] Strengths and Weaknesses

Some consider Damis to be one of the hardest bosses in Desert Treasure.

He uses what looks like full black armour with black medium helm and a black 2h sword in 1 hand. His main weakness seems to be Earth spells, so spells such as Earth Blast or Earth Wave are advised. It is also recommended to use Snare, Bind, or Entangle to keep him in one place. Using binding spells will also greatly reduce the need of Prayer potions.

On his second form, 10-20 Prayer potions may be needed. A couple of Energy potions (4) may be used to get through the lair, and rest of inventory should be filled with high level food (sharks, tuna potato, etc.)

[edit] Damis Safespot

There is a safespot that is commonly used by players to save prayer potions. Once Damis appears run back out the way you came. Head south then east. Keep running east until you come to a narrow corridor and stand behind the rat. The rat shouldn't move so you should be able to safely mage him. This way you shouldn't need more than one prayer potion(4) and you will only need that on your way to Damis. See the Desert Treasure quest guide for more tips and methods.

Another, less known but more useful safespot is also present. After he appears, run to the north. Trap him behind the corner of the wall. It should be now possible to mage him without him being able to hit back.

[edit] Trivia

  • Damis has two forms which must be defeated. After defeating the first form, those who fail to defeat the second form may return to continue the battle with the second form. The first form of Damis will not be fought again.
  • The Spa facilities in Oo'glog can be used to boost Energy, Hitpoints and Prayer levels. This facility is available to those who have completed As a First Resort... quest.
  • Damis, like Vannaka, Sir Vant, and Kamfreena, is able to hold a Two-Handed sword in one hand.
  • Unlike the other three bosses (Kamil, Dessous and Fareed) he does not reappear in Recipe for Disaster.
  • There is a glitch when killing Damis that he will heal himself on the 2nd form and become almost invulnerable. This glitch hasn't been fixed by Jagex yet.
  • There is a glitch when killing Damis that he will be poisoned and when just about to change to his second form, the poison will do 1 damage on him and he will die instantly. This means that the player will not have to fight the second form. It is unknown if the glitch has been fixed.
