A cyclops (plural cyclopes) is a monster primarily found on the top floor of the Warriors' Guild, and some can also be found in the Ardougne Zoo and the God Wars Dungeon. In the Warriors' Guild, many players fight them in hopes of getting a defender, as they are the only monsters that drop them besides Cyclossus. Cyclopes come in two varieties in the guild: Level 56 (which are bald) and Level 76 (not bald). They have low defence and a reasonably high number of lifepoints, making them a very good training monster. However, they are completely impervious to ranged and magic. The level 56 cyclopes are the lowest level monster to drop Hard Clue scrolls, although they do not drop them often, the cyclops in the Warriors Guild is the best for clue scrolls due to it being low levelled and having a higher drop rate than most. Many players bring runes for High Level Alchemy because cyclopes, especially the level 76s, drop Steel, Black, Mithril, and some Adamant items. However, this is not entirely necessary, as the shop on the floor just below them buys all the cyclopes' drops at high alch prices. The cyclopes are also aggressive in the warriors guild making them useful for training, despite the token system.
A Ring of Wealth does not increase the chance of getting a defender, which is a drop unique to cyclopes, and thus not on the Rare drop table. Players may spend anywhere from a very few, to thousands of tokens before getting defender drops (though it would appear that the Dragon defender drops more frequently than the other defenders).
It is important to note that if you log out while fighting cyclopes, when you log back in you will be outside of the room and have to reselect your choice of token payment.
Cyclopes sometimes summon a Cyclossus in the Warriors Guild. It is a considerable amount more powerful life points-wise, though it only has a max hit of 97. Its special attack knocks the player backwards and stuns them, so it is advisable to be stand against a wall, so that if it does stun you, you can still melee it. A cyclossus will not attack you if you aren't equipped with a rune or dragon defender, and you will not be able to attack it either if that is the case. The chance of encountering a Cyclossus increases if you chose multi-tokening.
On the day of the dragon defender's release, the cyclops room in the Warriors' Guild became extremely crowded by medium to high level players trying to receive one as a drop. Because of the difficulty to find a free cyclops to fight, players threw throwing knifes at one the moment it spawned to be the one that attacked it first and switched to a melee weapon to deal damage to it. This has since been prevented by Jagex and players can no longer range the cyclopes, not even to start a fight.

Location
Edit
The two main variations of cyclopes may be found in the Warriors' Guild. To get inside the Warriors' Guild, a player's Attack and Strength levels must add up to a sum of 130 or greater, or either of these stats can be level 99. In order to enter the Cyclops area, located on the third floor, a player must gain at least 200 Warriors' Guild Tokens. 20 tokens are no longer used up immediately upon entering the room, but 20 are still depleted every minute. The player must leave when the tokens run out, and will be forced out if they do not do so.
Level 81 cyclopes inhabit the God Wars Dungeon in the Bandos' stronghold, and therefore require a hammer and a Strength level of 70 to access. These level 81 cyclopes do not drop defenders.
Due to the Cyclops area only allowing melee-based attacks, the special attacks of Korasi's Sword and the Saradomin sword cannot be used. When tried, the game states "You cannot attack Cyclopes from a distance in this room."
There is also a level 56 Cyclops in the Ardougne Zoo.

Trivia
Edit
- Sometimes a cyclops spawns behind the wall or in the wall of the Warrior's Guild and is seen walking in the air. This glitch wasn't fixed yet, because it happens randomly.
- The examined text for a Cyclossus is "A one-eyed maneater" while that of a regular Cyclops (level: 56), is "A one-eyed man eater" which has a space in between man and eater.
- Kamfreena says that the plural of Cyclops is Cyclopes, it's because in ancient greek the plural of Κύκλωψ (Kýklōps) is Κύκλωπες (Kýklōpes). There are many other references to Latin and Greek in the game.
