Crux Eqal is an underground organisation of Druids and perhaps others who are currently working to combat the threat of the Mahjarrat, particularly Lucien, and their affiliates. However they have seen no success as many allies have died or end up enslaved during the struggle against Lucien for very little gain. They believe that they should be aware of what the larger world is doing. Crux Eqal is heavily involved in the While Guthix Sleeps quest, although much of its activity remains highly secret and unknown. In Postbag From the Hedge 36, Fiara revealed that Crux Eqal is tasked with protecting the Fist of Guthix from any further damage after Saradominist knights vandalised the area. With the death of Guthix in The World Wakes, Crux Eqal's fate is uncertain as they are now completely demoralised.

Crux Eqal seems to be directed primarily by druids of Taverley, and Thaerisk Cemphier appears to be its leader. However, its exact leadership structure is unknown.

The druids worship Guthix. During the While Guthix Sleeps quest, Crux Eqal forms a loose alliance with some followers of two more gods:

• The Guardians of Armadyl, who follow Armadyl, Represented by Idria
• The Temple Knights, who are an ancient order dedicated to Saradomin, Represented by Akrisae

In the quest it seems that the followers of the different gods have some difficulties in working together. This alliance was broken when as the respective death and enslavement of Idria and Akrisae has damaged relations between Crux Eqal and the other factions.
