Crushed nest detail

A Crushed nest can be made by right clicking a bird's nest and selecting "Crush", awarding the player with 1 Herblore experience, and can be received as a possible drop from certain monsters. Unlike a bird's nest, a crushed nest is tradeable.

A Crushed nest is the secondary item used in making Saradomin brews with the Herblore skill. These require level 81 Herblore to make. It currently has no other uses.

Market

Crushed bird's nests witnessed a rather large rise in price in February–March 2008, during which they rose from around 1,500 to 4,800 per nest as a result of the coinshare update making the God Wars Dungeon more popular, thus increasing the demand of Saradomin brews. The price then gradually fell to under 2,000 per nest. Then, following the October 2009 update to herblore, crushed nests and toadflax, both used in Saradomin brews, rose in price dramatically. When the Evolution of Combat update came out, brews plummeted in price because they only healed 500 per dose, which was ineffective compared to other pieces of food that could heal more in one bite.

An update doubled the healing effectiveness of a brew from 500 to 1000, raising the price of the crushed nest drastically. With the release of high-levelled monsters such as Vorago and Araxxor, the prices of crushed nests soared even higher as brews were being used much more often than before.
