A Crushed gem is an accidental product that is occasionally made when using a chisel on an uncut semiprecious gem, such as opals, jades and red topazes. 5 Crafting experience is granted when a gem is crushed this way. Gems can also be deliberately crushed by using a hammer on a semiprecious gem.
Crushed gem used to be tradeable in the Grand Exchange, however this was removed.
