The Corrupt dragon dagger was released on 15 October 2008 along with the PvP worlds. It is the strongest dagger available to non-members, but it crumbles to dust after 30 minutes of wielding. It requires 60 Attack to wield.It also can be poisoned, but only on a members world.
Players can receive this item either by trading with another player, or receiving it as a very rare drop from killing another player in PvP worlds or Bounty Worlds.
Some players feel that the dagger is not worth the 295,700 coins that a F2P PKer must pay to own, as it gives a smaller stab attack bonus than a Rune scimitar (40 stab attack bonus compared to Rune Scimitar's 44 slash attack bonus), it gives a smaller strength bonus (40 compared to Rune Scimitar's 44) while only being able to attack at the same speed as the Rune scimitar and it degrades into nothing after 30 minutes, whilst the Rune scimitar lasts indefinitely. As well as this, the Corrupt dragon dagger's special attack is unusable on F2P servers and it is unable to be poisoned. It is not totally useless however: if the enemy has a kiteshield and chainbody equipped, stab attacks will be more deadly, giving it a higher attack potential. It also weighs less than a scimitar but it is a difference of only about 1 kg.

- Upon release, many players thought it has a special attack in all worlds. However, this is not true as its special attack can only be used in members worlds. The same is true for all corrupt dragon weapons.
- The Corrupt dragon dagger costs significantly more than the dragon dagger, yet there is no difference between the two besides the degration of the corrupt dragon dagger and the corrupt dragon dagger's availability to free players.
