Cornucopia

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

A Cornucopia is used to store food and can be used to store up to 14 Hitpoints' worth of food. One click will replenish the player's health to the equivalent of food stored in the item, but completely empties when used to heal, even if the player is only 1 hitpoint away from full health. It can not be used if the player is already at full health. Once food is put in a cornucopia, it is impossible to take the food out again.

During the first Thanksgiving Event in 2008, it was received by finding ten disguised Turkeys, or by killing wandering Turkeys until one was randomly dropped. Terrorbirds, Seagulls, Chickens, Chompies, Jubblies, and Oomlie birds still drop cornucopias, though they are rare. Another one can be aquired from Diango in Draynor village if it was lost and if obtained either during the Thanksgiving Event in 2008 or after it.

[edit] Trivia

  • Cornucopia is the first Thanksgiving item.
  • If a player stores a cornucopia with food in the Player owned house costume room toy box, the food will be lost. The cornucopia will be empty once retrieved from the box.
  • If the cornucopia is attacked by a ghast in Mort Myre, it will become rotten food, as all foods do.
  • Drinks, such as beer, can NOT be stored in it.
  • When food with secondary properties, such as Jangerberries (heal 2 hitpoints, recover 1 prayer point), is stored in the cornucopia, the food loses its secondary properties; the player gains only the heal effect.
  • If the cornucopia has food stored inside, players can attempt to sell it to the Gourmets in Dorgesh-Kaan. However, they only value it at 1 coin.
  • If one puts a pie in the cornucopia, the pie dish disappears.
  • Each player is only able to keep a single cornucopia, unlike normal monster drops. Also, it is unique for the Destroy option as a non-quest, non-holiday item (if obtained from a seagull, chicken or other of various birds.)
  • If a player puts a food which heals a random amount (such as cave eels) inside, the food item will always heal the maximum amount.
  • It only accepts exact amounts in terms of hitpoints.
  • Cornucopias are not discontinued, they can still be obtained normally even after the event.
  • Using a kebab on a cornucopia will fill it with seven-hitpoints' worth, every time.
  • You could have gotten 2 by filling one with food, banking it and then going to Diango. There would be another one. However as soon as you got another one it said something like "You've had too much cornucopia so the turkeys decided to take some back." This was a glitch of the 2009 Halloween event where you could get multiple holiday items. This has been fixed.
