The coral crossbow is a reward from the Song from the Depths. It was used to free Remora during the quest. It has an upgrade from Thurgo, which requires all 4 parts from the Queen Black Dragon.

If lost after the quest, a new one may be obtained from Sir Rebrum, who can be found north-east of Rimmington, by the mine. Sir Rebrum can also be found by using the teleport option on Remora's necklace.

The coral crossbow is equally as accurate as a bronze crossbow. The coral crossbow may only fire coral bolts, 50 of which are also obtained from the quest, as well as being a drop from Young grotworms. The bolts are themselves equivalent to bronze bolts.

It can be upgraded into a royal crossbow by using the following drops from the Queen Black Dragon on it:

• Royal torsion spring
• Royal sight
• Royal bolt stabiliser
• Royal frame

This process requires 70 Smithing, and the new crossbow requires 80 Ranged. Upon receiving all four pieces, the player may take them to Thurgo south of Port Sarim, who will assemble them into an unfinished crossbow. The crossbow can be completed by exposing it to the Queen Black Dragon's fire attack during her final phase, which requires 60 Summoning.
