Copper ore

Copper ore is an ore which can be smelted in a furnace along with a piece of tin ore to create a bronze bar. Copper ore, along with tin ore, are the first ores a player can mine using the Mining skill, and requires level 1 Mining; all players are required to mine copper ore in Lumbridge for the quest Learning the Ropes. Copper rocks can be found in various mines across RuneScape. Mining a copper ore grants 17.5 Mining experience for each ore mined.

Copper can also be found when digging at the Digsite.

[edit] Smithing

A player can smelt copper ore into a bronze bar through the Smithing skill by using it on a furnace along with a tin ore, granting 6.25 Smithing experience. This requires level 1 Smithing. Bronze bars can then be used on Anvils to create Bronze items.

[edit] Respawn rate

Copper ore, like all other mined rocks, respawns at a rate directly proportional to the number of people in the rock's RuneScape world. If the world is empty, the ore respawns in 4 seconds; if it is full (with 2000 players), it respawns in 2 seconds. Thus the respawn rate of copper ore is

math seconds,

where x is the number of players in the world.

A table of respawn rates is given below.

Players 0 200 400 600 800 1000 1200 1400 1600 1800 2000
Respawn time 4.0 s 3.8 s 3.6 s 3.4 s 3.2 s 3.0 s 2.8 s 2.6 s 2.4 s 2.2 s 2.0 s

It is worthwhile to note that copper ore has the same respawn rate as tin ore.
