Copper ore

Copper ore is an ore which can be smelted in a furnace along with a piece of tin ore to create a bronze bar. Copper ore, along with tin ore, are the first ores a player can mine using the Mining skill, and requires level 1 Mining.

Copper rocks can be found in various mines across RuneScape. Mining a copper ore grants 17.5 Mining experience for each ore mined. Copper along with Tin is Mainly not used for smithing beginners, as they prefer completing the The Knights Sword quest; An easy F2P quest that grants 12725 Smithing experience, enough experience to increase a player's level 1 smithing to level 21 smithing. Copper ore was used for new merchanters, but no longer is because of the Grand Exchange update. Beginners mistake copper ore a "1st form" of a "copper bar", this is not true, as copper ore can only become a bronze bar with a smithing level of 1 and a tin ore. Making it a total of 158gp for a bronze bar. If a player buys tin and copper ore to make and sell a bronze bar, they will make 119gp profit. This is a slow method, but still good for beginners.

[edit] Smithing

A player can smelt copper ore into a bronze bar through the Smithing skill by using it on a furnace along with a tin ore, granting 6.25 Smithing experience. This requires level 1 Smithing. Bronze bars can then be used on Anvils with a Hammer to create Bronze items  (Some things may need more than 1 bar, such as a Battleaxe).
