A Coconut is one of two items that are very closely related. One is a whole coconut, and players can use a hammer on this to turn it into the other item called "coconut", which actually may be more appropriately termed "half a coconut". Only one of these is obtained.
Players can use the half-coconut on an empty vial to gain coconut milk and a coconut shell. Coconut milk is needed for making some high-level potions using the Herblore skill[1], and coconut shells can be used to make supercompost[2].
Members can obtain coconuts from a palm tree[3], which they can grow from a palm tree seed in a fruit tree patch, provided that they have level 68 Farming[4]. They can pay a gardener a fee of 15 papayas to watch over the tree whilst it grows[5].
Players need 25 coconuts to watch over a growing magic tree[5].
Coconuts are also held by nature implings in Impetuous Impulses, a minigame.
