Charms

Charms are items used in the Summoning skill as a requirement to create Summoning pouches[1]. They are obtained primarily as drops from any of hundreds of different monsters[2]. Charms are usually dropped independently from the monster drop list. Most of the time, they are dropped one at a time, making them slow to collect; however, some stronger monsters can drop multiple charms at once.
Other methods of obtaining charms include stealing them from chests in Dorgesh-Kaan (at Thieving level 52[3]), from a random event gift[4], or from Soul Wars using zeal points[5].
Charms cannot be traded between players, either directly or through the Grand Exchange.

[edit] Obtaining charms
This section is designed to aid in deciding what to attack while trying to obtain as many charms as possible. The sections are divided not based on combat, but the advantage of the level of the skill the player is using, their Hitpoints, their Defence, and their Prayer on the higher numbers. Players can also use Summoning if they are fighting monsters in a multi-combat zone.

* Bork will always drop five blue charms, 2 green charms and 7 crimson charms, and can only be fought once within a 24-hour period. This requires the completion of What Lies Below and completion of Chaos Tunnels: The Hunt for Surok.
[edit] Drop quantities
[edit] Gold, green, crimson and blue charms
275 gold charms are part of the reward for the Wolf Whistle quest[6].
With a few exceptions, monsters will only drop one charm at a time.
Note that currently all of the monsters which drop multiple charms (excluding Bork, of course) drop the same amount of each charm, thus looking at any one of the columns of a monster will suffice to know the number of charms it drops for all the colours.

[edit] Drop rates
The table below is the approximate drop rates of charms one may expect to obtain by killing 100 of that monster type. Information rarely reflects one person killing 100 of a monster type, but instead combines averages of two or more players each killing 50 or more and then extrapolating based on those numbers.
This list is by no means all of the charm droppers. The total number can be higher than 100, because some monsters drop more than 1 charm. The only monster to have a 100% drop rate on charms is Bork.
