[edit] Unfinished potion calculators
How does these calculators work. First of all we have the normal process of Herblore:
- Obtain a grimy herb. Buy, find, or farm.
- Clean it. A specific level is required. By cleaning, experience is gained and the clean version of the herb is obtained.
- Add to a vial of water or coconut milk. A specific level is required to add a clean herb into a vial of water or coconut milk. An unfinished potion is obtained.
- Add secondary ingredient. When this ingredient is added, experience is gained, much more than the experience gained for cleaning the herb.
- Sell the finished potion.
- Alternatively, potions can be mixed with caviar or roe to gain barbarian mix potions. Experience is gained by mixing caviar or roe.
Here we calculate the profit/cost for 3 cases:
- Buy a grimy herb, clean it, make a unfinished potion, and sell it.
- Buy a clean herb, make a unfinished potion, and sell it.
- Buy a unfinished potion, add the secondary ingredient, and sell it.

- All calculations are based on the 3-dose potion prices using live data from the Grand Exchange Market Watch.
- For potions based on a vial of coconut milk, the process cannot be split. This is because the unfinished potion with coconut milk is not tradeable.

This is a calculator figuring out the cost per xp for making potions from the half made unfinished potion versions. Using unfinished potions gives xp at a faster rate than using herbs.
