This talk page is for discussing Calculator:Combat.

I was wondering, is there any way this page can include some way to calculate how many levels you need to "level up" in which skill before you increase your combat level?--THIS IS SPARTAARGH! 17:00, September 13, 2009 (UTC)

Such a calculator could only tell you that if you were leveling up only one combat skill. It wouldn't work for multiple skills. kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar 19:58, September 13, 2009 (UTC)
I got bored and made a calculator that does that Calculators/Next combat level --Prayer-iconTyiloTalkQuest 22:01, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Why are we so uptight about not saving changes? It doesn't make it more difficult for the next person to use it. It doesn't hurt in any way. Soooooo....how about we just not worry about it anymore? Objections?--Degenret01 08:59, November 21, 2009 (UTC)

Hmm, I find it strange that I've never considered this before... I second this. C.ChiamTalk 12:51, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

I guess the idea is to keep it from spamming recent changes. But undoing the change just brings it up twice, so its defeating the purpose.--Degenret01 10:24, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Wouldn't converting this to a Java calculator make this a moot point? I think this is an excellent candidate for Java with a redirect for people who can't use the Java version. Air rune Tollerach hates SoF Fire rune 21:46, January 11, 2010 (UTC)

Someone should ask Cat to do whatever has to be done to place it on mainspace, if for anything, just as a test on mainspace. Unicorn horn dust Evil Yanks talk 00:50, January 12, 2010 (UTC)
Removed rfc since its now a Java calcAir rune Tollerach hates SoF Fire rune 06:41, March 8, 2010 (UTC)

as above Edit

wouldn't it be easier to keep the fields blank?

sorry Edit

sorry for saving :$

i will revert

No problem. If it's accidental, it's not vandalism, so don't worry about it.--Snowballs Alex1496 Snowballs 18:42, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

Input via hiscores? Edit

Would it be possible for a new box where one can put their username, after which the other boxes (like Attack level) are automatically filled in via the account's hiscore data? Tip.it and RuneHQ also have this, so if possible, could we also have it? Ancient talisman Oil4burgers TalkRunecrafter hat y 09:16, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think it would be possible for that, but I can find out. EZIQIBucket detailrwojy 09:42, March 7, 2010 (UTC)
That feature is used on Cat's combat calculator, so it is possible. Unicorn horn dust Evil Yanks talk 09:53, March 7, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, it's because we have a custom function I did not know about, #highscores:. It should be easy to make then. I'll have to make a separate template just for this page, though, as the extra code could cause some errors in the main template. EZIQIBucket detailrwojy 10:00, March 7, 2010 (UTC)
Although, I can just copy cat's form code to this page, unless any has any objections. I will give credit to cat in the edit summary, of course. EZIQIBucket detailrwojy 10:05, March 7, 2010 (UTC)
Go for it! Unicorn horn dust Evil Yanks talk 10:10, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

I said this two hours ago, and it's already done. Gotta love that. Ancient talisman Oil4burgers TalkRunecrafter hat y 11:17, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, there's still a problem. When I put in my name, it says that my summoning level is -1, and my cb is therefore 87,65. When I manually put in the levels (including a summoning level of 1), it says my cb is 87,9. Which one's right? Ancient talisman Oil4burgers TalkRunecrafter hat y 11:18, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

Sounds like your summoning isn't ranked on the highscores causing it be -1 on the calculator, so the second one is correct, with the correct summoning level. Majorbling 23:21, March 7, 2010 (UTC)
That shouldn't happen though, if it is unranked it should default to 1. I'll have a look at the code. EZIQIBucket detailrwojy 06:47, March 8, 2010 (UTC)
Unfortunately I can't figure it out. I'll have to ask gaz about it. EZIQIBucket detailrwojy 07:50, March 8, 2010 (UTC)

Hiscores input not working? Edit

I'm ranked in every skill on the hiscores, but when i enter my name it won't load the levels... Anybody know how to fix this? --Prayer-iconTyiloTalkQuest 13:36, March 10, 2010 (UTC)

Works now!!! --Prayer-iconTyiloTalkQuest 18:25, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

THAT'S AMAZING !!!!!! Edit

WOW i saw how many def lvls i have to get to level up combaaaaaaaaaat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU RS WIKI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rune scimitar BAHJY1 talk Rune scimitar 14:30, March 10, 2010 (UTC)

High end and multiple skills Edit

Put in my current scores and ask for any combat level above 125. You see the problem? This is a very tough calculation to do under more than a very narrow set of conditions. Mostly it works! Mostly. --Balton 16:04, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

9 Constitution Edit

Any way this could be fixed to allow an input of 9 Constitution? This is possible, and the calculator marks it as an invalid input. At 9 Constitution and 3 Attack I'm still at 3 combat, so it does make a difference. Riblet15 06:20, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Done. Quest Gaz Lloyd AwesomeEvents!99s 10:41, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Highscores Edit

I entered in my username into the name but it did not retrieve my skills. I am ranked in every skill on the highscores, except for Woodcutting and Dungeoneering, which don't count for combat. I tried manually entering my skills, and clicked "submit". It STILL thought that I had level 3 combat. It worked before, when my name wasn't entered. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.2.50.127 (talk) on 21:56, June 26, 2010 (UTC).

I believe this has to do with a problem we're having with the RSHiscores extension. I'm not sure when it will be fixed, but I've removed the player name field for the time being. --Quarenon  Talk 22:06, June 26, 2010 (UTC)
Cat's looking into it, with any luck he will find the problem and get it fixed shortly. Quest Gaz Lloyd AwesomeEvents!99s 22:51, June 26, 2010 (UTC)
been a year later still doesn't work >.< Qazwsx753421 04:37, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

Inaccuracy for Mage/Range High LevelEdit

If you use the calc for what is 99 in Range/Mage and 99 in Def, Const, Prayer, you end up with a combat level of about 110, not 126. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.129.32.194 (talk) on 19:48, 10 May 2012 (UTC).

Which is correct. See combat level. Quest Gaz Lloyd AwesomeEvents!99s 21:13, May 10, 2012 (UTC)

EOC Update Edit

Now that EOC has been launched this calculator is useless. Are there any plans to update it or at least mark it as been non-current? I know the formula for combat level is very simple now but having something to refer to quickly would be good. --Jaspotn (talk) 10:14, December 1, 2012 (UTC)
