Burnt meat

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

This article is about the item. For the troll cook, see Burntmeat.

Burnt meat is an item used for the Witch's Potion quest. It is often dropped by Imps and Zombies and is also a joke reward from My Arm's Big Adventure.

Players using the Cooking skill can produce burnt meat by failing to cook Raw meat. Players can deliberately make burnt meat by cooking a piece of Cooked meat, displaying the chatbox message "you deliberately burn the perfectly good piece of meat". Player with level 1 Cooking can attempt to cook raw meat. Higher cooking levels decrease the chance of burning the meat until eventually players stop burning it altogether.

Players cannot eat burnt meat, so it cannot be classified as food. It has no use except in Witch's Potion, so players burning meat will almost always drop it. Almost no players will buy burnt meat at any price, even when doing the quest, since it is so easy to make.

This item, like all burnt food, is tradeable, but not on the Grand Exchange.

It's likely Jagex made burnt meat untradeable due to the fact players might start charging large amounts of money to high levelled cooks for the meat, as high levelled cooks can't burn meat. Some people still trade large amounts of money to buy burnt meat as they might need it for a quest.
