Burnt fish is made when players attempt to cook fish such as salmon, trout or cod, and accidentally burn it. The likelihood of burning food while cooking will decrease as the player's Cooking level increases, and in any case is lower on a range than a fire. Cooking gauntlets can be used to effectively increase Cooking levels by 10 to reduce the chances of burning lobsters, swordfish, sharks, and rocktail.
There is a burnt fish that respawns on the table in Caleb's house in Catherby.
Like almost all burnt food items, burnt fish is useless and worthless. Before the trade update, players used to scam other less experienced players by selling them burnt fish for very high prices claiming it was a rare black fish.
