Burnt bones are used to train the Prayer skill. When buried they give 4.5 Prayer experience. These bones, however, cannot be obtained as an item drop. They can only be found in the Demonic Ruins and Red Dragon Isle in the Wilderness. They are no different to regular bones except that they have a burnt look, and that they weigh slightly less than regular bones. It is not recommended to train prayer with burnt bones, since they are only obtainable in the wilderness, and regular bones give the same amount of experience and are much easier to get.

Burnt bones were also used as a scam. People sell these bones for ridiculous prices, telling people they are rare. This can be reported under Rule 2 in the Report Abuse form, though the scam is still possible since the addition of balanced trade, because they're worth 2 times more than normal bones on the Grand Exchange. However this scam happens very rarely.
