Broken axe was a rune axe that was broken by an ent random event. Broken rune axes could be fixed at Bob's Brilliant Axes in south Lumbridge for 427 coins.

The broken axe was removed along with ents in the Random Event Update of 25 February 2009. Several weeks before this, the price of this item was sky-rocketing on the Grand Exchange, due to the fact that many players thought this would be a discontinued (and therefore rare) item. However, the update automatically repaired all broken axes, so any players who paid money for this broken axe would find that it was replaced by the normal counterpart. This is now a discontinued item, and all in existence have since been automatically repaired.
