|Examine||Nice crispy bread.|
Bread is one of the first items that can be cooked, and fairly easily, so long as one has the patience to travel to fetch what's needed to make flour. It can be made at Cooking level 1. Bread gives 40 Cooking experience.
To make bread, find a grain patch and pick some grain. Then find a windmill, and use the grain in the very top floor of the windmill, putting it in the hopper, and then operating the hopper controls to send it down the chute. Then head down to the first floor and use a pot on the flour bin to acquire a pot of flour.
Once you have your flour, use a bucket of water or a Jug of Water with the flour to create bread dough (also resulting in an empty bucket/ Jug and an empty pot). Then use the bread dough on a range to get a loaf of bread, which can then be consumed to heal 200 life points. Fires do not work for cooking bread.
Members can also buy bread from Baker who can be found behind the bakery stall at the Ardougne market and from Jiminua's Jungle Store north of Tai Bwo Wannai village. With a Thieving level of at least 5, members may as well steal bread from the previously mentioned Baker's stall.
Bread is involved in the Merlin's Crystal, Recipe for Disaster, Death Plateau and Enakhra's Lament quests. It can be cut with a knife to create breadcrumbs, awarding the player with 1 Cooking experience.
Dropping monsters Edit
- Bread originally healed only 4 hitpoints until it was raised to 5 hitpoints (equivalent to present-day 50 life points).
- When cutting bread into breadcrumbs, used to make fishcakes, the animation is identical to that seen when fletching, it is cutting logs in the animation.
- There used to be a glitch for free players, if you used a bucket of water with a cooked bread it will turn into a members object. The item, which is Soggy bread, is used in the Freeing the Goblins subquest for Recipe for Disaster.
