Brawling gloves (woodcutting) (also known as Woodcutting brawling gloves) are a reward received from PvP worlds. They are obtained as a random drop from player-killing.
In PvP worlds, the gloves provide 50% bonus while training on the Woodcutting skill. In addition, the gloves provide 4x experience if players train while in the Wilderness. The gloves only last for 732 logs cut, or 362 with a Sacred clay hatchet and will disentigrate after the corresponding number of logs have been cut.
They provide no Attack or Defence bonuses whatsoever.
The most effective way to use these gloves, is to chop oak in wild north of Edgeville. You can get 150 exp/log with only brawling gloves. Using a Sacred clay hatchet will double your xp to 300 xp/log, but will also degrade your brawling gloves twice as fast, effectively speeding things up to twice the normal speed. Do note that hatchet will also degrade, but at a 4x lower speed than usual (it doesn't calculate in the extra experience you get from the brawlers).
A better alternative is available if you have done the Spirit of Summer quest. You can cut down the Magic tree in the ruins west of Dark Warriors' Fortress. In order for it to respawn, you have to go inside the spirit realm and cut down the Cursed magic tree (requires 82 Woodcutting) without the brawling gloves equipped (seeing the spirit realm isn't Wilderness) and as soon as it has been cut down, the Magic tree will spawn in the Wilderness in the real world. (The spirit realm isn't accessible in the Bounty hunter worlds)
