Book of balance

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

A book of balance is a book held in place of a shield, and is the God book aligned with Guthix. Books of Balance must be made using all four torn Guthix pages which can be purchased from other players, obtained from treasure trails or by cremating a Vyrewatch. Equipping a book of balance allows the wielder to preach and perform ceremonies, such as blessing, last rites, and wedding rites by operating it. It also allows players with a Prayer level of 50 or greater to bless holy symbols and unholy symbols, at the cost of 6 prayer points per blessing (compared to 4 points lost when using the other two God Books). Lost books of balance can be reclaimed at the Lighthouse by speaking to Jossik, complete with all pages that have been added, for no cost.

Performing blessings, wedding ceremonies, last rites or preachings uses up 25% of the special attack bar.

It has balanced defensive and offensive stats, all at +4. It is the cheapest of the god books, as the Unholy book offers greater offensive stats, and the Holy book has superior defensive qualities. It is still very useful for players using Magic or Ranged, as it offers both defensive and offensive bonuses. Melee players could use it for the Magic Defence bonus, since most shields offer better defensive capabilities in other types of combat. This book looks exactly the same as Ghrim's book obtained from Advisor Ghrim.
