|Examine||A large shiny scale.|
Blue dragon scales can be found in two locations within Taverley Dungeon. The first spot is the main enclosure for the Blue Dragons which requires either a Dusty key to access, an Agility level of 70 and above, or an Agility level of 65 with a Summer pie to use the Agility pipe. There are several adult Blue Dragons and Baby blue dragons here, so it is recommended that the player wears a Anti-dragon shield. After the 19 July 2010 update, bringing Dungeoneering Resource Dungeons, there is now a Taverley Dungeon resource dungeon in the same enclosure which requires level 60 or above in Dungeoneering to access. Within this dungeon are 12 respawns of Blue dragon scales and also 8 Blue Dragons. When using a Spirit Terrorbird as a BoB, collecting scales from inside the dungeon as opposed to collecting them from right outside where there are 7 spawns, the whole run will only be about 10 seconds quicker. Ancient rangers commonly drop 2 in noted form.
Blue dragon scales can be randomly selected as an item for the quest Fairytale I - Growing Pains.
Depending on the prices, players can grind blue dragon scales to make a profit:
|Blue dragon scale||Dragon scale dust|
|Disassembly XP ?||0.1|
|Item quantity required ?||1|
|Base junk chance ?||98.9%|
|Total materials received ?||1|
Scales can be ground into dragon scale dust with a pestle and mortar which rewards the player with 1 Herblore experience. Dragon scale dust is a secondary potion ingredient used in Herblore to create weapon poison and anti-fire potions.
