Blue dragon scales respawn in the blue dragon location in Taverley Dungeon. Obtaining them does not require any dragons to be killed but an Anti-dragon shield is an essential item as you may find yourself in close proximity to the large fire breathing Blue Dragons. Having an Agility level of at least 70 will help greatly in quickly collecting large amounts of these because it allows access to a pipe shortcut which will drastically cut down on the time it takes to get a full inventory and get back to the bank if your collecting them. It is also recommended that you have a combat level of 97 or higher so baby dragons don't attack you.
It can be ground into dragon scale dust with a pestle and mortar. Dragon scale dust is a secondary potion ingredient used in Herblore to create weapon poison and anti-fire potions.
The price of a Blue dragon scale is currently lower than the price of Dragon scale dust, though you can just sell the scales for only about 50 gold less. Thus a player will make a profit by buying scales and crushing them.
They can be randomly selected as an item for the quest Fairytale I - Growing Pains.
