Blue dragons are the second weakest chromatic dragons, but are still fairly powerful monsters. An anti-dragonfire shield or an anti-fire potion is essential when meleeing them, but may be skipped if ranging or maging them. They are a very popular monster to slay because the blue dragonhides and dragon bones they drop can be sold for large profits. It is interesting to note that all Blue Dragons are thought to be females, likely due to the examine info.
If given blue dragons as a slayer task a player can simply kill baby blue dragons instead.

[edit] Locations
- Taverley Dungeon (3) - recommended for its high re-spawn rate, but it is usually crowded; has lots of stalagmites for safe spots for rangers and mages
- Ogre Enclave (6) - best place for Slayer tasks or for money, multiple safe spots
- Heroes' Guild (1) - not recommended, because it usually has one or more person at it in most worlds, don't have to use dragonfire shield here as long as you're in the safe spot
[edit] Strengths and weaknesses
Blue dragons, like all dragons, have very high defence. Their melee attack can hit up to 10. As with all dragons, an anti-dragon shield or dragonfire shield or an anti-fire potion is essential when fighting blue dragons, as it reduces the maximum hit of their breath from 50+ to about 5 (0 if used simultaneously). For melee, it is best to use stabbing weapons when killing these dragons.
Ranging from a safe spot is the most popular way to kill them (Crossbows/throwing knives/darts are recommended, since you can use it in conjunction with an anti-dragon shield). They can also be attacked safely with melee using a halberd since a regular chromatic dragon's fire is not long ranged.
