Blood rune

Blood runes are used for wave spells and surge spells in the normal spellbook and are used in many spells in the Ancient Magicks spellbook and the Lunar Spellbook. Blood runes are dropped by several monsters, such as Fire giants, Ankous, and a rare drop from Ice giants. They may be stolen from the chest in the Chaos Druid Tower north of Ardougne or purchased in the Magic Guild. There is also a respawn point near the Demonic Ruins. They are also fairly common loot from the barrows chest.

Until 22 April 2008, it was not possible to craft blood runes by any means other than the Ourania altar. Blood runes can now be crafted (level 77 Runecrafting) at the Blood altar after completing the Legacy of Seergaze quest, and give 10.5 experience each.
