The Blood diamond is one of the four Diamonds of Azzanadra which must be found during the Desert Treasure quest. It is obtained, after defeating Dessous, by talking to Malak.
It is recommended that players deposit this gem as soon as they obtain it, along with the other Diamonds of Azzanadra, for a level 95 Stranger may appear and attack them with a Dragon dagger.
The Blood diamond looks exactly like a normal ruby, though they are very different.

"Blood Diamond" is a diamond mined in a war zone, the profits of which are used to fund the war effort. Many of said diamonds are mined in Africa, and are illegal for sale in many countries who do not wish to profit off of or support wars, such as the civil war in Liberia.
