A blackbird is one of the pets in Betty's dungeon during the Swept Away quest. She and the other pets form part of a puzzle that locks the chest containing the magic unguent. Players need to move her to the holding cage while moving the other animals around the rooms, making an open space so the animals could move. Once all of the animals are in their proper cages, the blackbird can be moved into the cage that it should be in. If holding the bird while trying to go into a room with another animal in it would be returned to its cage in the original room.
She serves the same purpose during the purple cat miniquest.
