The Black scimitar is a scimitar with a slightly higher attack bonus than the steel scimitar. It can only be used in combat. Black scimitars are considered to be rare and expensive in the free-to-play worlds.
As with all black weapons, players cannot make this item using the Smithing skill.
Members may find a spawn on the south-west 2nd level (floor above ground floor) of Ardougne Castle. This is one of the few ways, other than completing treasure trails, of getting a black scimitar. The respawn time is slow however. Before an update in early 2009, the black scimitar was behind a locked door which needed to be right-clicked and Pick lock selected. The door was moved further east to reach a Thieving Paladin chest.
