A Black helm is the sixth-strongest medium helmet. The black helm requires 25 Defence to wear. The black helm's stats are identical to a black mask. The helm can be bought at Seddu's Adventurers' Store for 576 coins. It is an uncommon drop from dark warriors and the tormented wraith. It is less commonly used than its full helm counterpart when combating the tormented wraith, though, as it provides less protection. It can also be obtained through Shade Burning. It is quite commonly found at the Digsite, and can be traded from players. Prior to an update, the red band of the black helm was purple, unlike others that have a red band. The band has been removed in the graphical update of the helmet.

As with all black equipment, this item cannot be made from raw materials using the Smithing skill.
