Black gauntlets are a reward that can be purchased with tokens from the Fist of Guthix minigame. Unlike normal Fist of Guthix equipment, they discharge ONLY on death. They can only be traded when completely uncharged and require 10 Defence to wear. They require 13 Fist of Guthix tokens to recharge. These are considered the best Fist Of Guthix moneymaker, because they cost only 75 Tokens, but sell for about 18000, giving you about 300 coins per token.

The worn-out (uncharged) version of the gauntlets is considered the darkest colour hand-equipment in F2P worlds.
