Black d'hide coifs are rewards that can be purchased with Fist of Guthix tokens from the Fist of Guthix minigame. It requires level 40 Defence and level 70 Ranged to wear. This coif cannot be made with the Crafting skill.
It degrades with use similar with the Barrows equipment, and may only be traded when completely uncharged. To degrade the coif instantly (for trading), players may talk to the Reggie, who will be able to degrade the coif.
These coifs, along with blessed dragonhide coifs, are the fifth best range bonus in the game lower than the Robin hood hat, although they give a greater ranged Defence bonus. Players prefer not to use their Fist of Guthix tokens on these due to the fact that it costs 500 Fist of Guthix tokens, and that the sale price is not significantly high. In addition, blessed dragonhide coifs are slightly better and do not wear out over time.
