The Black Knight captain was a prominent member of the Kinshra order in north-eastern Asgarnia. The captain could be seen in an inaccessible part of the The Black Knights' Fortress on Ice Mountain, alongside Greldo, a witch named Lensig, and her black cat, Maemi. When you listened through the grills, the above persons could be heard plotting to a make a potion that would assist in the destruction of the White Knights. Even in the conversation he had with the witch, the captain did not speak much. The player may also have heard more of the conversation regarding the cauldron failure and sabotage at a grill in the Black Knights Headquarters (located within Black Knights' Fortress).

Because the room in which the captain is found cannot be entered, players were unable to interact with him, despite his having a talk option. His sword appeared to be a slightly longer version of a steel longsword with a small black metal tip.

With the release of The Death of Chivalry, he was given a more prominent personality and role in the quest, as well as a name - Captain Dulcin, the last descendant of Lord Shadwell, although he no longer personally appears.[1]
