The Bird snare is an item available from the Hunter supply stores in Yanille and Nardah. These snares require no bait. They are set in Hunter areas to catch the various birds of Runescape. Snaring birds always provides bones, raw bird meat, and variouly coloured feathers to be used in fishing or fletching.
Bird snares are used in the Bird Snaring method of training hunter.
Bird snares have three stages, as shown below. The first being the setup stage, in which the player has newly set a trap and is waiting for a bird. The second stage consists of a fallen trap, whether it failed from a bird's attempt, or simply fell of its own acord. The third, and preferred, is a successful trap, from which a player will need to take off the bird, claiming the bones, bird meat, and feathers, before they can proceed.
[edit] Trivia
- Interestingly, setting up a bird snare uses the same animation as that when lighting a fire with a tinderbox.
- If you set your trap a soon as you dismantle one your trap will be on the ground as if you dropped it. This might also happen if you do something else before the animation is over.
