Bert is a key figure in the Hand in the Sand quest and, after completing the quest, will gather 84 buckets of sand and deliver them to your bank account daily if you speak with him. This increases to 120 following completion of the Ardougne Elite Tasks. Please note players have to speak to him every day in order to get the sand. It is not automatically delivered.

He can be contacted using the NPC Contact spell in the Lunar spellbook.

TipEdit

• On 10 February 2009, the minimum interval between sand collections was reduced to 23 hours and 40 minutes to enable people to collect sand at the same time every day. Prior to this, the time of collection would slowly creep forwards every day because of the 24 hour minimum limit.

• A hidden update allows you to right click and select Sand was added to skip dialog with Bert.
• Bert's image on the Contact spell interface is that of his old chathead, where he looks younger. However, when talking to him using Contact the new chathead is displayed.
• Bert speaks with a Somerset accent.
• Despite the fact Bert mentions a wife during the quest The Hand in the Sand, he appears to be solitary in his cabin.
