Bat masks came as part of the 15 April 2008 treasure trail update, together with other animal masks, the top hat and Canes .
This mask gives no stat bonuses, players wear it to show off they have it or because they like the appearance.

- The examine info ("The bats have left the belltower") may be a reference to the 1979 song "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by the gothic band Bauhaus.
