Barley malt is an ingredient used in brewing, a division of the cooking skill. Barley malt can be made by cooking barley on a range.
Barley malt is one of the most important ingredients in brewing, as every type of brewable drink requires barley malt. To start brewing, a player must first go to one of the breweries in either Keldagrim or Port Phasmatys. After adding two buckets of water to the brewing vat, a player must add two handfulls of barley malt to the vat, followed by the deciding ingredient and ale yeast.
A farmer will look after a patch of jute in exchange for 6 barley malts.
Note: Barley malt is very scarce and will not buy in the Grand Exchange often.
