A Barb-tail harpoon is a one-handed wieldable harpoon obtained by hunting Barb-tailed Kebbits. As well as being a weapon, it can also be used for fishing. Many players prefer this harpoon over a normal one if a bank is far away as it does not occupy an inventory slot, allowing an extra fish to be caught. It also requires no Attack level to wield. However, it requires 35 fishing to use.

[edit] Trivia
- When the "deposit-all" option was added to the banks of RuneScape, people were more inclined to use the Barb-tail harpoon for harpoon fishing spots. This would allow you to bank all your items quickly, without depositing your normal harpoon.
