The Banshee champion was one of the three champions added to the Champion's Challenge activity on 9 November 2009, along with the Mummy Champion and the Aberrant Spectre Champion. A player will need earmuffs, Masked earmuffs or a slayer helm/Full slayer helmet for this fight. Without any of these, a player will repeatedly take hits of over 500 damage and have their combat stats reduced. The champion attacks only with magic during the battle, which is fairly accurate. Players are forbidden to use Melee or Prayer during the fight. It is recommended that you use ranged to fight the Banshee Champion and wear ranging armour for magical defence. She is weak to bolts so a strong crossbow or bolt-type weapon such as a salamander is advised.

Defeating the champion while assigned banshees as a slayer assignment will NOT count towards your task.

Even though the Banshee Champion is level 74, Mighty Banshees are level 130 and the strongest banshee is the Banshee Mistress fought during Smoking Kills.
