The Banner carrier is an Imp holding a banner, which the player can summon with Calling beads. In order to get these beads, one must defeat a champion in the Champion's Challenge minigame in the Champions' Guild.
The banner shows either an image of a champion that the player has defeated, or the number of champions that the player has defeated in Roman numerals. The Banner carrier's examine text changes depending on what banner he is wielding. To change the look of the banner, the player can talk to the Banner carrier.
Note: Killing the Leprechaun Champion will not reward the player with the Calling beads to summon a Banner carrier, since the Leprechaun Champion is just a teaser for the real work.
[edit] Trivia
- every once in a while the imp will do it teleport and switch, he will do it so fast that the player wont see, the imp dose say this.
- This is the first follower outside of a quest who runs with the player
- Although the Banner carrier follows the player, he is not classed as a pet or familiar. As such, he will not appear in the Summoning interface. However, the player will not be able to have a pet or familiar out unless the banner carrier is dismissed.
- If the player calls the Banner carrier, a leprechaun's face appears on the banner for a split second. This is probably a glitch.
- There was a bug where if the player faced the Grand Exchange booth and summoned the imp, he would appear inside the booth with the Bankers and Grand Exchange clerks. He could not move unless the player moved away far enough so that he would reappear next to the player. This has been fixed.
- The Banner carrier has an idle animation. After a couple seconds of standing in one spot, the imp will look around the banner to check if the player is still in front of him.
- The Calling beads do not need to remain in the inventory for the Banner carrier to continue following the player.
