Bandos chestplate is a part of Bandos' armour, requiring 65 Defence to wear. It is dropped by General Graardor and his bodyguards in the God Wars Dungeon.
It is generally used as all-purpose torso armour because it offers a high defence bonus, a strength bonus, and a prayer bonus. Because of this, many players believe it is the best non-degradable platebody in the game. However, it is slightly lower than the Dragon Platebody in stab and slash defence bonus, whereas the Bandos Chestplate has slightly higher Crush, Summoning, Ranged, Strength, and Prayer bonuses.
Its appearance in the player's inventory is similar to Guthan's platebody, but when worn it actually resembles Verac's Brassard merged with a platebody and adorned with spikes, which greatly differs from what it looks like in the inventory.
When worn by a female player, its appearance differs from when it is worn by a male player.
It has the highest strength bonus (+4) of any non-degradable chestplate in the game, together with the Fighter torso. The chestplate recently has been rising in price, exceeding its pre-Bounty Hunter price of 12.7 million coins, most likely due to the recent PvP updates that changed the drop table, or mass merchanting. It was most likely crashing, along with other items, because of the new high level Herblore update, people started selling their items to get their Herblore level up. The crash stopped on the tenth of October 2009 because the new potions released couldn't be used in PvP worlds anymore.
