Augury is a prayer that increases a player's Magic level by 8?% when calculating hit chance, Magic damage dealt by 8%, and Defence by 8?%. It requires both level 70 Prayer and Defence to use. Augury currently has the highest Prayer level required for any prayer in the default prayer book. Augury is unlocked by completing the Knight Waves Training.

Considering the way in which it is unlocked, the boosts, and Prayer level required, this prayer may be considered the Magic equivalent of the melee prayer Piety and the ranged prayer Rigour.

• This used to be the only magic boosting prayer in the standard prayer book that does not have the word "Mystic" in its name, Until, However, Overcharge was released.
• If you try to set Augury as one of your Quick Prayers before unlocking it, the message reads: "You can buy this prayer from Daemonheim. You also need a Prayer level of 74.". However, this is wrong, as you actually need a Prayer level of 70 for Augury and Rigour. Since the arrival of the Evolution of Combat, the two prayers are now unlocked upon completion of Knight Waves Training Ground.
• Before the Evolution of Combat, Augury was unlocked through the scroll of augury, a Dungeoneering reward.
