Astral rune detail

Astral runes are runes used in all Lunar Spells. Astral runes require level 40 Runecrafting to craft. They may be crafted by using pure essence at the Astral altar on Lunar Isle after the completion of Lunar Diplomacy. 8.7 Runecrafting experience is gained per essence crafted, and at level 82 Runecrafting, players can craft two astral runes per pure essence. 82 runecrafting is also required to complete the "Astronomical" task in the Fremennik "Elite" tasks set which requires 56 astral runes to be made in one go.

Astral runes may not be crafted via the Abyss. There is no talisman needed to access the astral altar; the astral altar is the only Runecrafting altar besides the Ourania altar that does not have a talisman associated with it.

The Unofficial world for Astral running is World 42.

Astral runes can also be obtained from mining a crashed star. The number of runes received depends on how much stardust the player has mined. There is a limit of 200 stardust, making 52 the maximum number of astral runes available from one star.

Astral runes may also be purchased from certain shops. Baba Yaga's Magic Shop located north of the bank on Lunar Isle stocks 100 astral runes. The house is a moving house with bird legs on it, walking east and west. Players must have a Seal of Passage with them when attempting to trade with Baba Yaga or they'll be thrown off the island unless the player has completed Lunar Diplomacy.

The value of one astral rune in Mobilising Armies is 67 Investment Credits.

As of 7 February 2012 the Seal of Passage is no longer required to access all services on Lunar Isle. The 1 daily teleport to Lunar Isle that it provides became obsolete with the introduction of the Lodestone Network.
