Asgarnian ale detail

Asgarnian ale is an ale that can be player-made or purchased from a few pubs. It heals 200 to 240 life points, depending on your constitution level, and temporarily increases Strength by 2 at the cost of 4 Attack when drunk.

Recipe

The full recipe for Asgarnian ale is as follows (in the order given):

  1. 2 Buckets of water
  2. 2 Barley malt
  3. (optional) 1 "The stuff", to increase chance of maturity
  4. 4 Asgarnian hops
  5. 1 Ale yeast
  6. Wait two to five days
  7. Collect the completed ale using eight Beer glasses or two Calquat kegs.*

* Calquat kegs are highly recommended, especially if the ale has matured. Simply by collecting the ale in a keg, the value of the batch will increase by several thousand coins. This creates an Asgarnian ale (keg).

Construction

This drink is featured in Construction. Players can make Asgarnian ale barrels at 18 Construction, which provide an infinite supply of this beer. You must have 8 Asgarnian ales and 3 Oak planks in your inventory to build one. Unfortunately, ales taken from player-owned beer barrels cannot be taken out of a POH; however, if the player drinks the ale and leaves, they will retain the stat boosts until they wear off.

Quests

This ale is also featured in several quests. In Recipe for Disaster/Freeing the Mountain dwarf a gold coin is added to a glass of this ale, much like a shot drop, to produce an Asgoldian ale which is apparently a supreme favourite among dwarves. In the quest Wanted!, Sir Amik will ask the player to bring an Asgarnian ale if the player becomes his squire.
